Cloth Diaper Review: Mother-ease Sandy's Diaper and Air Flow Cover
Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 8:26PM The Mother Ease Sandy's Diaper is a winner of PTPA Media (parent tested, parent approved) so I had no doubt it was going to be a good diaper. When given the opportunity to try it for ourselves, I was excited to have another great fitted in our stash.
The diaper we tested was the Sandy's size small in Cotton Terry, The diaper has two size options Small covers 8-20lbs, Large covers 20-35lbs. Since Cora is a very skinny 15lbs, this diaper will last for some time on her. Who doesn't love a diaper that will be in use for so long?
The cotton terry we got was white but it comes in a variety of colors. It feels like a very very soft towel. It has layers of cotton for absorbency and comes with an additional doubler made of the same cottons. I thought it worked really well. I tested it on Cora both during the day and overnight. Since Cora is a heavy night time wetter, I rarely use a fitted overnights. The Mother-ease held up very well, meaning my daughter didn't wake up screaming cause she felt wet.
Sandy's diaper is made with two sets of side snaps, making it really easy to get a good fit on a squirmy 5 month old. With a row of three snaps for the legs and two snaps for the waist, I found it easy to fit my skinny daughter. This is a problem I often have with Cora (if you are a regular reader you hear me talk about it all the time) she has a skinny waist and chubby thighs. If there aren't two sets of snaps, we just can't get a good fit. The Mother-ease is actually one of the better fitting diapers we have. Around her chubby thighs we are on the second of the three snaps, her waist is on the tightest setting. I love how customizable this is.
We also tested the the Air Flow cover by Mother-ease. I am just going to admit it right off the back, proving that my reviews are honest, this is not my favorite cover. It is highly functional! It has side snaps just like the diaper and it does allow to get a pretty good fit. Because it has vents on the sides, it allows for air circulation reducing the risk of bacteria. I found it really bulky on Cora and that could be because she is really skinny. I would bet that once she bulks up herself, we might find this to be a better fit for our rotation. That being said, I would still recommend it. We never had a leak or blow out with this cover. I tried it over several fitteds as well, not just the Sandy's. This diaper cover is a work horse, as opposed to a show horse :)

I have also examined the magnificent one size diapers created by Mother Ease Sandy and found them to be very productive as these are very sensitive to the baby skin and rash free...:)
