1 Year Anniversary!

I can not believe that JP and I have been married for an entire year! This post is a little bit late, our anniversary was June 27th. It has been literally the most amazing year of my life so far. JP and I had always said that we absolutely would not get married and certainly getting pregnant was not a reason for anyone to jump into the huge commitment that marriage is. As we got further and further along in my pregnancy with Coraline, we talked more and more about getting married but not at all because I was pregnant. Finally we decided that our family and each other were all we really wanted, we could probably stop being so utterly anti establishment and tie the knot :)

Our actual wedding was very emotional for me, partly because I was 7 months pregnant when everything is emotional. I cried a lot with JP just before the ceremony, but got through reciting our vows in front of friends and family. It was a surprise to most all of our guests, we had simply invited them to our baby shower.  Simple and meaningful  we got married in our back yard.

So on our anniversary I am left reflecting on not only our ceremony but our relationship these past three years. Where we were, what we have been through together, our personal triumphs and the changes we have made as a couple. Both of us have grown so much in the company of one another. I am everyday surprised by what an amazing man I married. Some days not that long ago, I definitely didn't think I would end up as lucky as I have.

My husband has given me literally everything I have always wanted in life, a beautiful daughter, a complete and happy family. Not to mention all of the other things I have always wanted, just about anything I have ever asked for! I cherish every moment that I watch him as a father to Coraline. There could be no better man and father.  He supports me in any creative endeavors I choose, it was a mutual decision for me to stay home with our daughter; for that I will be forever grateful. He is understanding of my parenting choices even when they are different then the things he knows from his own upbringing. He takes out the trash everyday, cleans the kitchen every morning and continues to scoop the liter box!

I can safely say that we do indeed have the perfect marriage, the perfect life together. I am not sugar coating for the blog, this much I promise. Our once every few months fights are minimal and educational, always allowing us to learn from each other, always coming from our love. As cheesy as it sounds, we have never gone to bed angry. As much as we can get frustrated with each other, never has there been a moment of doubt for either of us, we are in it for the long haul. I am more in love with my husband today then I was when we got married a year ago. I love the life we have built. I love the man he has become since I met him 3 years ago in a bar.

Because he is a fantastic husband, an awesome father and all around really great guy, these are the reasons you will forever only see the most positive things written about him here. It should be stated that he doesn't even read the blog, he wants me to feel completely open and creative in my writing, I could say anything at all. So, maybe he will never read any of it, but to my husband on our first anniversary, I adore you, more today then yesterday and not as much as tomorrow.
