One of the perks of pregnancy is itchy skin, especially on your hips and belly. Ok, it's not a perk, I was trying for a positive spin. In all actuality my itchy belly has become something I am forced to battle on a daily basis. I am no stranger to moisturizer, I am something of an addict. I believe taking care of your skin is one of the most important things you can do, not just to look great but to feel great as well. The first thing that struck me about the Preggo No Itch and Stretch Mark Butter was the consistency. This was much thicker then any of the other "butters" I have seen. Now I have to admit that I was slightly put off upon my first use because Preggo seems at first to be really greasy. After further use ( a few weeks now) I have found that when applied Preggo is a light and quickly absorbing butter. The thing is, in order to gain all of the effects of a good body butter, you want it to be a little thicker and greasier then the average over the counter lotion.
Preggo No Itch and Stretch Mark Butter smells amazing, which is one of the reasons I adore using it every day. It's become a lovely ritual for Coraline and I these days, after I take a bath or shower, Coraline helps me put Preggo all over my belly...or baby as she says. I think it's a fun way for her to take part in the pregnancy. Because Preggo is made from all natural ingredients, I don't have to worry about it for use on my 2 year old. Does it do what it says? Yes, I am not itchy! My belly feels great all day after my morning application. On days when I am rushing or just plain forget to put Preggo on, I notice all day that I am itchy. It combats itch for sure. I do want to comment that no amount of lotion or body butter or praying will keep stretch marks away. I know plenty of people who swear that using a certain cream during pregnancy allowed them to escape the stretch mark gift, but that just isn't the case. I definitely think you need to take care of your growing belly skin, before, during and after pregnancy. Stretch marks are a product of genetics, something of which there is no escape. I have a belly covered in them myself from my first pregnancy with Coraline, and yes, I used creams everyday religiously...no escaping those genes.
